On February 6, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University (SJSU) organized a cultural event within ELI-TE framework for students and educators, focusing on tradition and multiculturalism, aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect for cultural diversity.
About 120 participants attended interactive sessions and cultural exchange activities where they explored traditional customs, cultural heritage, and everyday practices from different cultural backgrounds. Special emphasis was placed on fostering an inclusive and respectful environment, where cultural diversity was presented as a value and a resource in informal education practices.
The topic of tradition and multiculturalism sparked an open discussion among participants about cultural identity, coexistence, and the importance of intercultural awareness in educational settings. Participants expressed different perspectives based on their cultural backgrounds; however, through dialogue, key principles for multicultural engagement were identified, including openness, tolerance, active listening, and mutual respect.
