YStreet Counsellor Training seminar
may 22-24, 2026 saulkrasti, latvia
During the seminar, participants explored practical approaches to creating an inclusive educational environment and fostering psychological safety in youth programs. Through collaborative hands-on learning, they adapted activities for different age groups and individual needs, while role-playing exercises helped them develop skills for responding to conflicts, bullying, and challenging situations. The sessions once again highlighted the importance of inclusivity, empathy, respect, and creating a supportive environment where every young person can learn, participate in community life, and realize their potential.
“The hands-on experience of role-playing scenarios helped me realize just how difficult it is to quickly get my bearings in a real-life situation. It’s one thing to discuss safety rules and boundaries in theory, and quite another to face them face to face in a role-playing game. This module made it clear that we need to learn to apply all the situations we’ve discussed in practice, training our reactions so we don’t get caught off guard at camp.”
