ystreet training seminar for counsellors under ELI-TE project

april 3-6, 2026 riga, latvia

The seminar focused on developing counselors’ capacity for reflective, ethical, and inclusive leadership in camp settings. Through sessions on group dynamics and group roles, participants learned to recognize collective processes, manage transitions between control and trust, and prevent exclusion. An interactive “Café of Dilemmas” explored questions of identity, freedom of choice, and responsibility by linking classical texts with contemporary challenges. A dedicated ethics session addressed professional boundaries and real‑life cases, strengthening participants’ ability to create safe, respectful, and participatory environments for children and youth.

“A thorough analysis of possible roles helped me better understand the dynamics within the group. Once I had a name for certain behaviors within the group, I realized how my level of engagement had changed, and that the same person can take on different roles depending on the situation.”
